Tamer Hosny and His Cool Hip-Hop Song

I got this song from my buddy, she's modern girl of Arabian-descent. This song is very "ear-catching", the first time you hear it you'll be curious to listen and listen again!

The singer's name is Tamer Hosny, he's Egyptian singer--and he's cool! Just like this song: half English and half Arabic, with sooooooo smooth voice of Hosny and very catchy music! It's a unique rap song... yeah the lyrics is just ordinary theme about the boy who lost his girl, but the 'refrain' part is very unique...since it uses Arabic language--and it isn't everyday you hear Arabic rap, right? It's different, really. Just knew that Arabic can listens well in hip hop rhyme :) You should listen!

Merapi dan Mbah Maridjan

Pada hari Selasa, 26 Oktober 2010 waktu Maghrib, saya masih berada di Universitas Ma Chung untuk mengikuti seminar Internet Sehat. Tak dinyana, beratus kilometer jauhnya di arah barat,gunung teraktif di dunia sedang memuntahkan isi perutnya. Merapi. Saat itu pula, seorang abdi sedang bersujud kepada Tuhan pemilik gunung yang dijaganya selama puluhan tahun. Mbah Maridjan akhirnya meninggal di sisi Merapi, gugur dalam tugas menjaga gunung yang sangat dicintainya itu. Saat sedang menunaikan ibadah shalat Maghrib, "wedhus gembel", awan panas bersuhu 600 derajat Celcius menerjang dusunnya dan membakar apa saja yang dilewatinya.

Bagi Mbah Maridjan, meninggal dalam 'buaian' Merapi mungkin adalah hal yang diinginkannya. Bekerja sebagai wakil juru kunci sejak 1970, lalu menjadi juru kunci resmi Merapi pada 1982, dia adalah orang yang mengabdikan seluruh hidupnya untuk menjaga Merapi. Dia paham nda hafal segala tingkah polah gunung yang meletus setiap 4 tahun sekali itu. Bahkan, sebelum letusan kali ini, dia sudah memprediksi bahwa Merapi akan 'mbledhug' pada hari Selasa petang. Bukan, dia bukan paranormal. Dia hanyalah abdi yang sangat mencintai alam hingga dapat berkomunikasi dengannya, membaca tanda-tanda alam yang sudah lekat dengan kesehariannya.

Selamat jalan Mbah Maridjan. Sampaikan pinta kami pada Tuhan untuk menghentikan bencana yang bertubi-tubi menimpa negeri ini...
